marc kenson théus

Marc Kenson Théus is a project management professional who has more than ten years of specialized experience in construction and engineering, technical management, humanitarian relief, and climate change resilience in both the United States and Haiti. As Program Manager for Haiti Takes Root, an initiative of JP/HRO that aims to strengthen capacity and coordination among diverse actors to manage Haiti’s natural resources and adapt to the impact of climate change, Mr. Théus manages teams of Haitians and international experts who implement watershed management and community mobilization activities across rural Haiti. In this and other roles, he contributes to strategic planning and oversees program coordination and outreach, fieldwork implementation and management, document and quality control, and reporting.


Mr. Théus also has strong field research and design skills, including data collection and analysis and stakeholder consultation. He has made substantial contributions to the execution of multiple assessments and field studies, including the Environmental Assessments for the multi-million-dollar USAID-funded Haiti Health Infrastructure Project, a post-Hurricane Matthew arboreal assessment in the south of Haiti, and a nationwide charcoal production study financed by the World Bank. Mr. Théus’ expertise in cross-cultural communication has been critical to effective collaboration with the Government of Haiti, community partners, and donors. Mr. Théus holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from Goshen College. He is fluent in English, French, and Haitian Creole.
